Angelica Sinensis (Dang Gui) Blood Tonic Herbal Soup Blood-Nourishing, Replenish, Vital Energy & Enhance Radiant Glow
A Gentle, warming tonic works all year round.
In traditional Chinese medicine, Dang Gui (当归)—also known as Dong Quai—is called “female ginseng” because it has long been used to support women’s health and as a beauty-from-within tonic. It is traditionally used as a nourishing soup for women’s health, especially for postpartum recovery and to restore vitality after periods of fatigue. It is also commonly used to support healthy blood circulation and keep the body warm for those with cold hands and feet.
However, its benefits are not limited to women. This warming tonic soup supports recovery, restores vitality, promotes radiance, and helps maintain long-term wellness for people of all genders.
It is mainly used to nourish blood, regulate the menstrual cycle, ease menstrual cramps, and support women through menopausal symptoms. By fortifying Qi (vital energy), it provides gentle, warming energy, making it an ideal tonic for fatigue, stress, poor sleep, and general depletion.
Angelica sinensis (Dang Gui) soup is indicated for “Blood Deficiency” (血虚) and related gynecological issues. In TCM, Dang Gui is known as “female ginseng” for its ability to nourish blood, regulate menstruation, and relieve pain.

The Essence of the Brew
The preparation is a slow, patient process. The ingredients are simmered gently allowing the essence of the herbs to fully infuse into the broth / soup. The result is a deeply aromatic, savoury and subtly sweet.
The herbs are always simmered with a meat, commonly pork ribs or chicken, to create a nourishing broth.
【Non-Vegan Soup】– Pair with chicken / pork ribs / pork bones / lean pork (chunks) / meat bone for a rich and nourishing soup.
【Vegan Soup】 – meat-free soup – Pair with corn / shiitake mushroom / etc, for a light, naturally sweet vegan soup.

· Rinse all ingredients and set the Goji Berries aside. Add them to a pot with blanched pork ribs or chicken. Cover with water 900ml – 1000ml, bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Add the Goji Berries in the last 10 minutes. Add Salt to taste and serve.
