Five Red Dessert Soup is a traditional Chinese sweet soup made with red beans, peanuts, red dates, goji berries, and brown sugar. Cooking Instructions
Mini Pack : 1-2 servings
1. Soak the red beans and peanuts in advance. Rinse all ingredients.
2. Rinse all ingredients, place the soaked beans, peanuts, and red dates in a pot with 1000ml of water (adjust to your preference). Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 1.5hours, until all ingredients are soft and tender.
3. Once the beans are soft and tender, add the goji berries and brown sugar. Cook for another 10 minutes until the sugar dissolves completely.
· For extra creaminess : Mash some of the red beans against the side of the pot to release their starchy texture.
Regular Pack : 3-4 servings
1. Soak the red beans and peanuts in advance. Rinse all ingredients.
2. Rinse all ingredients, place the soaked beans, peanuts, and red dates in a pot with 1800ml of water (adjust to your preference). Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 1.5hours, until all ingredients are soft and tender.
3. Once the beans are soft and tender, add the goji berries and brown sugar. Cook for another 10 minutes until the sugar dissolves completely.
· For extra creaminess : Mash some of the red beans against the side of the pot to release their starchy texture.
Optional
4. Turn off the heat, pour in the milk – optional (coconut milk or oat or almond or soy milk as substitute), cover to steep for 3 min and it’s ready to serve.
Tips
· Serve Hot : Soothing stomach, cooler days.
· Adjust the water amount to your liking – use less for a thicker, richer drink, or more for a lighter version.
